As a Project Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the financial integrity of high-impact projects. You’ll manage project budgets, provide reporting, oversee cost management, and lead financial forecasting. Your understanding of contract requirements will ensure accurate billing and compliance, working closely with project managers, contractors, and finance teams to deliver projects on time and within budget. In this leadership role, you'll guide and mentor the Project Accountants, overseeing activities like accounting administration, cost reporting, and audits. Your leadership will foster a high-performing team and support their career development. Essential Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with Builder’s Lien Act, holdback requirements, payment processes, contract terms, and project closeouts. Collaborate with project management for monthly reviews and accurate cost reports. Prepare and present performance summaries and project progress reports to leadership. Develop and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Manage cost and profitability reporting, ensuring alignment with KPIs. Guide the team in preparing LEMs, invoices, and progress claims. Provide timely financial reports to Project Management & Operations. Investigate financial anomalies and inquiries, providing resolutions. Qualifications

At least 6 years in operational accounting. Experience supporting Construction, Telecom, or Manufacturing industries. Post-secondary business degree preferred. Strong knowledge of construction contractual, legal, and commercial terms. Understanding of construction methods and processes. Financial acumen in equipment utilization, rates, and profitability analysis. Proficiency in construction accounting software and principles. Excellent analytical skills and advanced MS Office skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Experience with JD Edwards is a plus. Work Conditions
