The incumbent is responsible for providing secondary market mortgage loans to consumers. They have extensive contacts daily with bank customers, personnel, and outside contacts including real estate brokers, builders, title companies, private mortgage insurance companies, attorneys, and other related entities to ensure a competitive product that meets customer needs. Essential Functions:
Proactively solicit new prospects for residential mortgage secondary market loans through contacts and referrals with bank customers, real estate brokers, builders, title companies, private mortgage insurance companies, attorneys, and other related entities. Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data and determine their financing objectives. Advise customers on product and pricing policies and guidelines, and gather additional required information. Identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of personal and business relationships for recurring referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics. Participate in job-specific training and other bank training programs as required. Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations, including BSA, AML, and all bank policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Actively participate in the sales and service culture, support organizational values, and follow established bank policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of mortgage loan experience and one year of real estate/sales experience are required. A bachelor's degree in real estate or finance may substitute for experience. Working knowledge of mortgage lending laws, regulations, and procedures is necessary. Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA regulations and guidelines, along with other loan programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related applications. Ability to work with limited supervision. Professional demeanor, effective oral communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
