Overview
Senior Accountant – Environmental Services Industry. We’re partnering with a fast-growing leader in the environmental services sector to add a Senior Accountant to their corporate accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic, mission-driven organization that is focused on sustainable business practices and protecting natural resources. As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play an integral role in the financial close process, reporting, and analysis while also supporting strategic initiatives such as system enhancements, acquisitions, and process improvements. This position is highly visible and provides a strong platform for career growth in both technical accounting and business partnership. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month/quarter/year-end close activities. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information by verifying and consolidating transactions. Review and analyze financial reports, providing insights to business partners. Compile and analyze inventory values and changes, collaborating with field personnel on physical counts. Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Partner with business leaders to analyze trends, identify variances, and provide meaningful financial insights. Drive process improvements to streamline reporting and shorten the close timeline without sacrificing accuracy. Complete ad-hoc analysis and project work as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA designation (or progress toward) strongly preferred. 3–8 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, audit, FP&A, or related areas. Strong understanding of US GAAP and internal controls. Advanced Excel skills; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and exposure to tools like Coupa a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate cross-functionally. Why This Role?
