Overview
Summary:
Manage and oversee the repair process for engines in the Commercial Inventory Services department. Ensure efficient repair operations, vendor management, and adherence to quality standards. Drive continuous improvement and optimize customer satisfaction. Responsibilities
Evaluate and approve/reject/negotiate quotes from repair vendors, making informed decisions on parts disposition. Review repair requests, authorize repair orders based on inventory availability and quote history, select repair vendors based on turnaround time and pricing, and ensure accurate inventory updates upon receipt of repaired parts. Analyze department reports, open sales reports, and open repair order reports; issue repair orders for required materials; assign expeditors to track sold items; and maintain up-to-date records. Manage the repair aspects of special projects and programs, ensuring that parts, pricing, and turnaround times meet program requirements. Review and address recurring discrepancies with repair vendors regarding parts placed in quarantine to ensure compliance. Review and approve invoices from repair vendors, request credits as needed. Participate in the Material Review Board (scrap committee) to review and disposition parts. Provide expertise and guidance to the repair administrators, including training, work allocation, and problem resolution. Qualifications
Associate\'s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. Minimum of five years of experience in the aviation industry or a related field. Strong knowledge of FAA/JAA regulations and ability to interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in mathematical calculations, including discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic algebra and geometry. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in standardized situations. Ability to effectively collaborate with customers, employees, and vendors.
