A global manufacturing company headquartered northwest of Baltimore is seeking a strategic, results-driven
Controller
with a CPA designation and deep expertise in manufacturing finance and controlling. This role is ideal for a finance leader with a strong background in cost accounting, pricing strategy, and financial operations in complex industrial environments. Key Responsibilities
Lead the finance and accounting departments, overseeing daily operations, staff development, and process improvements. Provide timely, accurate financial performance reporting and analysis to the CEO and Board. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to guide operational and strategic decisions based on detailed financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning. Develop and monitor budgets across departments; track key financial and operational KPIs including ROCE and EBIT margin. Ensure the implementation and ongoing improvement of internal controls and financial systems, ensuring full GAAP compliance and adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee external audit processes and act as primary liaison to auditors, legal counsel, financial institutions, and other third-party partners. Manage project-based financial controls including charge code tracking, cost completion assessments, and charge code lifecycle (new/closed). Drive proposal pricing and cost modeling for future business pursuits, ensuring competitive positioning aligned with corporate financial goals. Contribute to business development and strategic growth initiatives by identifying financial risks and opportunities across operations. Qualifications
CPA required Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment Strong knowledge of managerial accounting, cost accounting, pricing structures, and compliance standards (GAAP) Familiarity with employment and labor laws as they pertain to finance and business operations Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage through complexity Advanced analytical skills and experience with financial performance modeling and reporting tools Preferred Skills
Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) compliance or other regulated industries Proficiency in ERP and financial reporting systems Strategic mindset with hands-on problem-solving ability Pay
Salary is up to $180k + benefits. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in the greater Baltimore area. Relocation assistance may be considered for highly qualified candidates. Seniority level
