The candidate will identify loan solutions, craft appropriate financing strategies, and guide clients from application through closing. Responsibilities

Advise clients on mortgage loan options, recommend suitable products, and develop tailored loan arrangements to meet their financial needs

Collect, analyze, and evaluate financial and credit information, including tax returns, to determine loan eligibility and optimal terms

Manage the loan process from application to closing in partnership with operations, ensuring compliance, quality, and timely resolution of issues

Build and maintain a robust network of partners, including realtors, builders, and other community contacts, to generate new business opportunities

Maintain proactive, transparent communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the loan process

Monitor loan pipelines daily, anticipate needs, and follow up on outstanding items to ensure seamless and timely closings

Maintain accurate, complete files in Encompass, including proper documentation and rate locking

Represent the bank at community and networking events, and actively contribute to team sales meetings and compliance trainings

Stay informed on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices

Maintain current NMLS registration and adhere to all regulatory, investor, and bank-specific compliance requirements

Meet or exceed minimum production standards as established by mortgage management

Uphold confidentiality, ethical conduct, and professionalism in all interactions

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a self-generating mortgage loan originator, primarily in first lien originations

Associate degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience

Active NMLS registration (or ability to obtain and maintain eligibility)

Advanced knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements

Strong relationship management, sales, and client service skills

Ability to analyze and interpret data and calculate figures such as income, basis points, and commissions

Proficient with Encompass and Microsoft Office; comfort with other mortgage and CRM platforms preferred

Exceptional time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with a team-first mindset
