Conduct field-based investigations by visiting policyholders’ homes to investigate property damage. Use claims handling software, a company car, and a laptop to determine claims-related damage and write estimates in a paperless environment. Represent the company from a public relations standpoint and conduct oneself as a member of management at all times. Travel may be required for catastrophe duty. Negotiate with policyholders to settle claims using strong customer service skills. Inspect damaged property and determine claims-related damage; estimate cost of repair or replacement. Maintain active adjuster licenses in states where required. Assess subrogation potential and initiate salvage or other related actions as appropriate. Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Eagerness to learn about insurance policies and property damage and how coverage applies to particular losses. Outgoing personality with ability to interact with a wide range of people (policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, etc.). Valid driver’s license; Motor Vehicle Record background check may be required due to company vehicle use. Ability to adapt to evolving technology. Physical ability to perform job duties, including travel to field locations and lifting up to 50 pounds where applicable. Job Summary
Investigates, determines liability, confirms coverage, establishes damages, and negotiates settlement of claims. Will require maintaining an active adjuster license where required. Benefits
