Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Property Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the financial reporting and accounting for a portfolio of manufactured housing real estate assets. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of property accounting practices, lease administration, and financial statement preparation. Key Responsibilities
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities for assigned properties Prepare property-level financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP Manage accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries Perform monthly account and subledger reconciliations, close packages, and variance analyses Review lease agreements and ensure accurate rent billing and lease compliance Develop and maintain detailed depreciation and amortization schedules Work closely with property managers, asset managers, and external auditors Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis Prepare property tax and insurance reconciliations Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and investors Support year-end audits and annual tax return preparation Assist with lender compliance reporting Ad-hoc projects as requested Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of experience in real estate accounting or property management accounting Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles Strong academic foundation in financial accounting: journal entries, cash transactions and reconciliations, non-cash activity, and investor capital activity Strong interpersonal and communication skills Excellent analytical and organizational skills Proficiency with Yardi software preferred Ability to meet deadlines quickly and accurately, multi-task and work well under pressure with changing priorities Team player Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with emphasis on Excel skills Maintain an environment of excellence and a “can do” culture Working Conditions
