Job Summary And Qualifications As the Collections Supervisor you will contribute to the company’s mission, vision, and values by completing the follow-up and collection from third party payers and self pay accounts to enhance cash flow and obtain associated reimbursement based on established contracts. You will maintain and supervise all collection personnel at CBO under the direction of the CBO Director/Asst. Director based on established requirements of the CBO. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Supervises/monitors the flow of work in the collectors and reassigns workload demands. Maintains daily review of collector’s queues on desktop so queues remain in a current status based on Best Practice requirements. Tracks and trends denials from EOBs and communicates it in a timely manner with CBO Director/Assistant Director. Maintains monthly rebill and denial logs for each center, identifies trends, documents actions taken and communicates it in a timely manner with CBO Director/Assistant Director. Reviews filing and follow-up on insurance denials for all collectors to assure appeals are completed within 24-48 hours from the receipt of the necessary documentation. Assists with preparing appeals to assure all documentation is obtained and appropriate. Assists in identifying carrier guidelines and where and how to find them. Notifies Director/Asst. Director of contractual issues that affect payments and are contrary or inconsistent with contract language. Completes 20 account reviews per month for each center. Will be reviewed by Director/Asst Director with signature approval. Appropriate education initiated as required to correct any deficiencies. Responsible for supervision of all collectors in achieving and maintaining accounts receivable days at the established ASD goal. Posts adjustments and refunds identified by the collectors and submits to the CBO Director/Asst. Director for approval. Holds regular collection departmental meetings. Provides back up as needed to all collectors. Assists or oversees the recruiting, hiring, and development of the collection staff. Other duties as assigned based on CBO operational needs. Experience Minimum three (3) years of collection experience or supervision of collections in a high volume collection arena highly preferred. (i.e. ambulatory surgery center, hospital, doctors office) preferred. Working knowledge of Managed Care payers/contracts, Medicare and Medicaid payers/contracts, Medicare/Medicaid Managed Care payers/contracts and medical terminology are preferred.
