The Jonus Group is partnering with a well-established client that is looking to add an Actuarial Analyst to their expanding team. This role will primarily focus on Personal Lines, with additional responsibilities in Commercial Lines as needed. The position offers the opportunity to contribute to ratemaking, loss reserving, and performance monitoring while collaborating across multiple departments including Marketing, Underwriting, IT, and Finance. Key Responsibilities
Draft formal actuarial recommendations for the Chief Actuary and senior leadership. Develop rate indications by line of business and provide support for assumptions used. Prepare supporting exhibits for regulatory rate filings and respond to questions from state insurance departments. Facilitate the rate change process and ensure proper documentation across business lines. Conduct loss reserving using multiple methods, providing recommendations to the Chief Actuary. Analyze competitor data alongside company loss experience to inform ratemaking activities. Respond to special projects, ad hoc analyses, and other departmental requests. Track and evaluate the performance of both personal and commercial lines with a range of performance measures. Qualifications
Completion of at least four CAS exams is required. Familiarity with GLMs and predictive modeling is preferred but not mandatory. Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a related field. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; knowledge of MS Access, SQL, or Visual Basic is an advantage. 5+ years of P&C actuarial work experience.
