The Department of Taxes' Compliance Division seeks a talented individual to support public programs through the accurate and equitable collection of Vermont taxes. This position involves reviewing taxpayer records for compliance and providing education to taxpayers. Key Responsibilities
Collect unpaid taxes on behalf of the state via phone or other means Arrange formal payment agreements, propose settlements, and waive selected penalties when appropriate Establish personal liability, initiate bank/wage garnishments, and property liens Educate and outreach to taxpayers to promote and achieve voluntary compliance Ideal Candidate

The hourly salary ranges from $25.10 to $39.19, with an annual range of approximately $52,208 to $81,515.20, based on 2080 hours, excluding overtime and time off. The division promotes and ensures Vermont taxpayer compliance through early intervention, education, outreach, and fairness. Our team includes auditors, tax examiners, analysts, collection agents, and support staff. Background Checks
