This role as a Project Accountant at CPL, a nationally recognized Architecture & Engineering, and Construction (A/E/C) firm, is key to ensuring our projects are financially sound, well-managed, and positioned for success.

Partner with Project Managers, Finance, and Leadership to ensure the financial health of some of our most exciting and visible projects. Manage all project financial records, ensuring accurate billing, revenue recognition, and reporting. Drive timely and precise invoicing while coordinating with Project Managers to secure approvals. Analyze financial data, WIP, and gross profit variances to keep projects on track. Research unbilled issues, discrepancies, and payments to maintain accuracy and compliance. Support accounts receivable and cash application efforts to improve collections. Set up and maintain projects in Deltek Vantagepoint ERP, ensuring accuracy from day one. Oversee sub-consultant invoicing, approvals, and compliance with contract terms. Assist with project audits, monthly close, and provide insights to senior leadership. Requirements
The following are required for this role: 3–5 years of project accounting experience, ideally within a project-based billing environment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Strong proficiency with GAAP, technical accounting, internal controls, and financial close processes. Proven experience acting as a point person and lead on the external auditing process. Nice to Have
Experience in the A/E/C or construction industry. Expertise in Percentage of Completion / Construction Accounting. What We Offer
