Bronson Neuroscience Center has specialty services including but not limited to neurology, neurocritical care, neurohospitalists, neurosurgery, neuroendovascular surgery, sleep health, physiatry, neurobehavioral health, and neurodiagnostics with locations throughout southwest Michigan.**GENERAL SUMMARY/OVERVIEW STATEMENT:****Come join the #1 stroke program in Michigan!** The Neurocritical Care Advanced Practitioner position is an employed, full-time position that includes varied shifts and weekends. Shifts include a rotation of days (8A – 9P), nights (8P – 9A), and swing (11A - midnight). In this role, the candidate will be working collaboratively with multiple providers including Trauma Surgeons, Medical Intensivists, Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, and Hospitalists.

The Neurocritical Care APP supports critically ill patients with neurological or neurosurgical conditions or who are at risk of developing neurological complications. This position also participates in the Stroke Call down process, provides input in performance improvement and nursing education.

The APP will perform patient assessments, medical histories, physical exams, and plan and implement plans of care in collaboration with Neurointensivist or appropriate attending. Must maintain all requirements for medical staff privileges.* Must be able to operate and perform basic computer programs associated with documentation and record keeping in the department* Must possess effective interpersonal relationship and communication skills that are applied to multiple group interactions* Communicates clearly and efficiently both verbally and in writing Work which produces high levels of mental/visual fatigue, e.g., interactive and repetitive or small detailed work requiring alertness and concentration for sustained periods of time, the operation of and full attention to a personal computer or CRT between 40 and 70 percent of the time. The job produces some physical demands.
