Job Description and Duties

Under the general direction of an IT Manager I, in the Network Access Control unit, the incumbent serves as a Senior Lead Network Engineer supporting Caltrans Enterprise Network and Traffic Operations Network. The incumbent is based in the Sacramento Headquarters office and provides statewide support and leadership for Caltrans business operations. Domains:

Special Requirements

Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle. Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required.

The SOQ is a narrative discussion of how your education, experience and training qualify you for this position. Your SOQ should be 12 pt. Arial font, single spaced, and clearly labeled. The SOQ should clearly address each of the questions listed and be no more than 2 pages in total. Paper size to be 8.5" x 11". Left, right, top and bottom margins must be 1". Resume and Cover Letter will not take the place of the SOQ.

Describe your education and experience that have prepared you to lead technical efforts related to enterprise networking, network access control (NAC), and infrastructure operations in a large, complex organization.

Provide an example of a complex technical issue you encountered involving network infrastructure, security, or system availability. What was your role, how did you resolve the issue, and what was the result?

Describe your approach to delivering excellent internal customer service and collaboration in a multi-team IT environment. Include an example that demonstrates your communication and leadership in solving a cross-functional challenge.
