About the SPCR/DevOps role RSM US LLP established the Security and Privacy Services Consulting (SPRC) practice to address the critical needs of our clients. This group, comprised of more than 300 professionals, serves the cloud engineering needs of clients by helping prevent, detect, respond to, and recover from security threats affecting critical systems and data. We support a diverse client base across industries with cyber advisory, assessment, implementation, and managed solutions. As part of this team, you work directly with clients to advise, assess, implement, and operate their critical operations.
We are seeking individuals with an interest in cloud transformation, architecture, and DevSecOps engineering. As a DevOps Engineer, you will drive cloud-native transformations, automation, and CI/CD enablement for RSM clients. You will design and implement scalable DevOps pipelines, cloud infrastructure automation, and site reliability engineering (SRE) best practices to optimize application delivery and performance. In this client-facing role, you will collaborate with software engineers, architects, and cybersecurity professionals to accelerate digital transformation initiatives. The successful candidate will have knowledge of cloud architecture models, leading vendor products and solutions, and cloud technology trends to benefit global organizations.
Responsibilities
Work independently as well as with large project teams delivering value to RSM clients
Experience with distributed development and technology implementation teams; build and run technology products, solutions, and capabilities
Understand and experience with Agile Delivery methods
Assist clients with solving complex technology problems
Perform hands-on development and configuration to design, develop, and implement cloud capabilities
Develop "as-code" cloud transformation accelerators for client engagements
Understand business and technology risk and apply risk reduction techniques
Grow skills in areas such as Cloud Engineering, Cloud Security, DevSecOps, Cloud FinOps, Cloud Migration, AI Development, Data Protection, Identity Management
Identify and research complex technology and security challenges
Support Cloud Transformation Leaders in strategy and program success
Basic Qualifications
Personable, problem-solving thinker who can develop plans and bring recommendations to leadership
Proactive, able to conduct technical research and propose solutions
Ability to communicate technical information to all levels of technical aptitude
Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree by employment start in a related field
Technical background in computer science or related fields
High integrity and ability to adhere to company policies and best practices
Experience Successful candidates typically have 2-4+ years of experience in the following areas:
Experience delivering engineering solutions as code on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, and others)
Hands-on cloud engineering and architecture expertise across cloud technologies and transformation initiatives
Experience in cloud architecture design and software development, including IaC and PaC
Design and support enterprise cloud solutions and guide clients through the cloud journey
Work as part of integrated squads of consultants and cloud engineers
Development of internal solution summaries and accelerator tool kits
Building demonstration scenarios and prototypes
Collaborating with consultants in other regions and practices
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree and 2-4 years of related experience
Proficiency with AWS, GCP, Azure
Experience developing and implementing at-scale cloud and hybrid architectures
Ability to deliver end-to-end automation in a cloud environment
Experience with software build automation, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps delivery
Experience with private, public, and hybrid Cloud deployments
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Policy as Code (PaC) experience
Proficiency in Terraform and CSP native IaC languages
Proficiency in Python, Java, PowerShell, C#, .NET, Bash, or Go
Knowledge of networking, security principles, and DevSecOps best practices
Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Experience guiding clients in cloud-native, serverless, and containerized architectures
Experience with product management/agile delivery
Curiosity and ability to self-educate on new technologies with support from leadership
Preferred Qualifications
Landing Zone Development and Deployment
Cloud Managed Service Development and Delivery
Experience with SIEM and SOC operations (e.g., Microsoft Sentinel, Purview)
Technology assessments, gap analysis, and recommendations for improvement
Cloud Security and Cloud FinOps approaches and tooling
Cloud security frameworks and benchmarks (CSA CCM, NIST 800-53, CIS, etc.)
Certifications such as AWS/Azure/Google cloud architect and DevOps certs
Proficiency with cloud security services and monitoring tools
GenAI infrastructure platform design and development
DevOps tooling experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Container registries and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, EKS, AKS, etc.)
A minimum 3.0 GPA in technical coursework
