Job Title: MFT Engineer Location: Plano, TX – Hybrid Duration: Long Term We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MFT (Managed File Transfer) Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing management of our enterprise-wide managed file transfer infrastructure. This role is critical in ensuring the secure, reliable, and automated transfer of data between internal systems, partners, and external clients. Responsibilities
Design & Implementation: Design, install, configure, and maintain enterprise MFT solutions, ensuring they meet business and security requirements. Administration & Maintenance: Perform daily administration, monitoring, and maintenance of MFT applications and their underlying infrastructure on various platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix). Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols, including encryption (PGP/GPG), digital certificates, and access controls, to ensure all data transfers comply with industry standards and regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA). Troubleshooting & Support: Act as a subject matter expert for all file transfer issues, providing advanced Level 2 and Level 3 support to diagnose and resolve complex problems, including failed transfers and connectivity issues. Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts (using languages like Python, Perl, or Shell) to streamline file transfer workflows, error handling, and reporting. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT security, network operations, and business units, to onboard new partners and applications and ensure seamless data exchange. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for MFT processes, configurations, and disaster recovery procedures. Technical Skills
Proficiency with enterprise-grade MFT platforms such as IBM Sterling MFT (Connect:Direct, Sterling File Gateway), GoAnywhere MFT, TIBCO MFT, or Axway. Expertise with file transfer protocols, including SFTP, FTPS, FTP, AS2, and HTTPS. Strong knowledge of encryption standards and authentication methods. Solid experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, or Shell) for automation. Proficiency with Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems. Familiarity with network concepts and troubleshooting.
