Facilities Coordinator role at DePaul — Rochester View Apartments. ASL fluent maintenance professional to join our team under the direction of the Programs Director. Position summary: The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for maintenance, cleanliness and upkeep of the building and grounds, with the ability to troubleshoot and problem solve in a proactive and cost-effective manner. Responsibilities
Make repairs of the building, equipment, and machinery as needed within capability; notify the Programs Supervisor of major problems or concerns. Repair lights, plumbing, windows, and screens, and perform simple carpentry as needed. Replace/repair carpet and tile. Perform interior and exterior painting as needed; obtain bids for larger projects. Coordinate work orders with the Programs Supervisor or designee to ensure deadlines and priorities of the program are met. Under the direction of the Programs Supervisor, oversee contracts for preventative maintenance of generator, fire extinguishers and Ansul system, sprinkler system, fire alarm, elevator, HVAC system, water treatment and pest control. Ensure residents’ rooms are prepared for new admissions, including maintenance of the room and moving furniture/equipment as required. Gathers price estimates for major repair work and reviews them with the Supervisor. Maintain ongoing contact and monitoring of lawn care and snow removal companies; ensure walkways and exits are shoveled and salted as needed. Work with the Director to ensure OMH/HCR and other funders’ physical plant issues are addressed according to DePaul’s Physical Plant Standards. Assume on-call responsibility during physical plant emergencies. Maintain and perform preventative maintenance for building and grounds; identify and address grounds/landscaping service needs. Participate in staff meetings and in-services; work independently and with other maintenance staff to meet agency deadlines and priorities. Follow safety rules and regulations for self, residents, and staff. Schedule, implement, and track monthly fire drills as directed by OMH regulations; complete monthly inspections of fire safety equipment according to OMH/Quality Management guidelines. Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the programs. Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Trade/industrial arts coursework preferred. Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Three years of hands-on maintenance experience in a large facility (electrical, carpentry, painting, plumbing, drywall repair, and other minor repairs) preferred. Must be able to lift at least 70 pounds. Computer use for email and ticketing system. Candidates must be ASL Fluent. Qualifications
