Perform legal research and study legal records and documents. Draft briefs, motions, orders, subpoenas, contracts, and other legal documents. Take depositions and respond to discovery requests. Oversee the creation and issuance of legal documents. Represent the State at docket calls. Prepare cases for trial by collecting, organizing, and preparing evidence and legal materials. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience: Attorney I: J.D./LL.B. from an accredited law school. Salary starts at $69,493.17. Attorney II: J.D./LL.B. plus 18 months licensed attorney experience. Salary starts at $74,360.69. Attorney III: J.D./LL.B. plus 3 years licensed attorney experience. Salary starts at $85,128.53. Attorney IV: J.D./LL.B. plus 4 years licensed attorney experience. Salary starts at $91,099.48. Attorney V: J.D./LL.B. plus 6 years licensed attorney experience. Salary starts at $104,312.44. Licenses, Registrations, Certifications: Licensed to practice law in Texas. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of jurisprudence, criminal and civil law, procedures, and applicable laws. Skills in legal research, analysis, verbal and written communication, and negotiation. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and establish effective relationships. Work Environment & Other Information
Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds, visual acuity, speech, hearing, manual dexterity, and the ability to operate office equipment. Work hours are 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday, at 314 W 11th Street, Austin, TX. Criminal background check, education, and employment history check are required. Additional Details
