Responsibilities
Gather
client information and documentation for tax preparation. Prepare
business and individual tax returns accurately and efficiently. Research
tax issues and develop strategies that enable clients to achieve their financial objectives. Review
bookkeeping records to ensure accuracy and support client recordkeeping. Serve
as a liaison between clients and accounting support staff. Consult
with clients on topics such as tax strategy, business growth, financing, succession planning, and estate planning. Pursue
continuing education, advanced licenses, and designations with firm-supported resources. Serve
a diverse client base, including real estate, agriculture, construction, service businesses, manufacturing, nonprofits, and individuals. Travel
locally between offices and to client sites as needed. Work
60–65 hours per week during tax season (some evenings and Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.) and 40–45 hours the rest of the year.
Ideal Profile
Experience:
3–5 years in a public accounting firm preparing business, partnership, corporate, and individual tax returns. Holds a bachelor's degree in accounting or business with significant accounting coursework; CPA or EA designation (or active pursuit) preferred. Analytical & Strategic:
Researches tax issues, develops strategies, and provides practical, client-focused solutions. Professional & Organized:
Manages time effectively, prioritizes workflow, and maintains accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality in all work. Excellent Communicator:
Builds trusted client relationships, presents a professional image, and collaborates well with colleagues and referral partners. Continuous Learner:
Stays current on tax laws, business trends, and economic issues through active research and continuing education. Value-driven:
Embraces our faith-based culture and delivers tax and accounting services that reflect our core values of professionalism, reliability, and practicality. Tech-savvy:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, with QuickBooks experience a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
