Relationship Banker I Job Description:

The Relationship Banker will serve as the single point of contact for customers. This individual will be responsible for connecting with customers in order to understand how best to match their needs with First United Bank products and services, as well as mentoring employees to do the same. This individual must be committed to precision and adhering to the policies and regulatory standards as they relate to the role. Maintains a basic knowledge of all First United Bank products, services, procedures, policies and regulatory issues related to daily job functions. Follows proper procedures for all customer-servicing activities; retains existing customers and develops new relationships. Serves as customers\' single point of contact on all bank products and services; meets and exceeds performance goals and participates in sales campaigns. Participates in meetings, bank functions, and community events as requested; builds rapport to generate customer loyalty. Identifies customer needs and matches them with bank products and services; refers to other staff as needed. Opens new accounts and ancillary products; handles paperwork and system entries accurately. Assists customers with routine questions and requests (balance inquiries, statements, online banking, ACH, wires, notary, etc.). Processes a variety of transactions accurately and efficiently; maintains appropriate drawer limits and vault duties. Verifies transactions, resolves discrepancies, and handles cash alike; proactively resolves customer complaints and issues. Reviews account issues and assists with repayment plans; performs security functions for bank operations. Masters the Primary Purpose and Essential Duties of the Relationship Banker I position. Employee Specifications: High School Diploma strongly preferred; some college preferred. One year of retail experience preferred; cash handling experience preferred. Superior customer service, basic mathematics, accuracy in daily work, and strong communication skills. Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate with customers and co-workers; manage time effectively; work independently; exercise good judgment; multi-task; maintain professional appearance.
