Overview

The Office of the District Attorney, Bronx County (BXDA) seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Trial Preparation Assistant, Level II (TPA II) to assist Appeals Bureau Assistant District Attorneys with post-conviction matters. BXDA is charged with public safety and equal justice for the Bronx County community, focusing on assistance for crime victims while ensuring fairness to defendants and a standard of excellence in representing the Bronx community. Retrieve and copy court and prosecution files Deliver documents for court filing and postal service mailing Help copy and bind documents to be filed in court Help maintain and make entries in various Appeals Bureau databases Perform all other duties as assigned Preferred Skills

High school diploma or GED required Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Ability to work independently and effectively under deadlines Attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with court staff, agency staff, and external agency staff Ability to multi-task in fast-paced environment Desire to contribute to the success of the Appeals Bureau Please submit resume and cover letter explaining your interest in the position Minimum Qualifications

High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community-centered activities related to duties described above; or Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the foregoing Public Service Loan Forgiveness: As a prospective employee of the City of New York, you may be eligible for federal loan forgiveness programs and state repayment assistance programs.
