Palm Harbor Homes The Cost Accountant Manager is a non-degreed accountant (although accounting degree preferred) supporting the operations with transactional accounting processing and coordination of initiatives supporting plant operations. This role works independently executing process steps, conducting analysis, problem solving and delivering recommendations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Provides detailed cost information not supplied by general accounting systems, applying principles of cost accounting. Plans study and gathers data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor. Analyzes data obtained and documents results. Excludes paraprofessional cost accounting positions. Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs. Analyzes actual manufacturing costs, and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs. Provides management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services. Other support duties for General Manager as required Minimum Qualifications
Associates degree required, bachelor’s degree preferred 4 years directly related experience Previous accounting experience desired Medium level of Excel Ability to work under pressure and deadlines Organizational skills Ability to deal with all levels of management Team player
