Overview

Manager, PEPI - Software & Tech M&A (Open to all US locations) The Private Equity Performance Improvement (PEPI) practice focuses on helping upper middle market and large cap private equity firms improve operating results at portfolio companies. Our services span the deal lifecycle from pre-deal technology and operational reviews through Day-1 planning to post-deal implementations. Responsibilities

Conduct software product and technology due diligence and assessments focused on product features, roadmaps, technology architecture, IP/open source, R&D organization and processes (including SDLC), R&D OpEx/CapEx, and hosting infrastructure. Engage in engagements across pre-acquisition buy-side, pre-transaction sell-side, pre-acquisition synergy/cost take-out, and post-acquisition value creation and performance improvement. Participate in client interactions (interviews, interim updates, final readouts) and manage data requests from target companies and client teams. Perform detailed analysis across assessment areas, organize data, and translate findings into client-ready exhibits and deliverables. Ensure deliverable quality and manage day-to-day relationships to deliver exceptional performance. Supervise and mentor junior staff. Qualifications

5-8 years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with at least five years in tech-focused consulting (software/tech-enabled services product management or software development). Desirable: experience with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or related due diligence. Strong communication skills (oral and written), with ability to deliver executive-level materials and client-ready deliverables. Proven track record working with business leaders and private equity deal staff. Excellent fact-gathering and analytical skills (quantitative and qualitative). Previous software/product experience in a software organization or advisory context from a top-tier firm or Big-4. Ability to translate technical insights into commercial implications. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another analytical field. Flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time. Team and Professional Development

Salary range estimated at $125,000 - $190,000 annually, with discretionary bonus potential. Employment type: Full-time. Seniority level: Mid-Senior level.
