Stantec is seeking a motivated and dynamic Architect to join our award-winning design team. This role is open to qualified candidates located throughout the continental United States, reporting into our Charlottesville, VA office, with the flexibility of remote work. Your Opportunity

As a major contributor on our professional Architecture team, you will work independently to assist clients through the planning and creation of fiscally responsible, award-winning designs. You will be familiar with construction plans, specifications, estimates, client guidelines and building codes. You will be innovative and creative, working with prototype designs and/or developing unique concepts from sustainable products with green architecture sensibility. You will lead the development of integrated design proposals, continuous updating of a building information model, preparing a variety of output/drawings throughout the project, while leading and mentoring others and collaborating with team members to contribute to the final deliverables as required under instruction from the Project Leader. Responsibilities

Responsible for multiple projects of varied complexity. Engage in the development of design through sketches, modeling, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats. Utilize BIM technologies in development of project models and complete construction documents. Independently perform a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of architectural designs for projects. Participate in design critiques and pin-ups. Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies. Prepare and revise documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details. Review shop drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, prepare site observation reports, and other contract administration tasks. Lead project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor and sub-contractors. Assist in the preparation of the project specifications and coordination of specifications with construction documents. Participate in constructability review and conduct quality assurance/quality control on projects. Capabilities and Credentials

Proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, particularly Autodesk Revit, with expertise in architectural modeling and detailing. Proficiency with 3D modeling and rendering tools such as Rhino and SketchUp is a plus. Strong oral and written communication skills for client presentations and team coordination. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to handle multiple projects at once. Collaborative mindset to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams. Problem-solving and analytical skills to address complex design and construction challenges. Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas effectively. Ability to participate and collaborate in a project team setting through all phases of architectural document production. Receptive to feedback and able to respond professionally. Knowledge and application of accessibility codes and applicable building codes. Strong understanding of architectural document production, drawings, and specifications. Knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. Ability to conduct space planning, block planning and adjacencies in coordination with building program. Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness. Strong presentation and communication skills. Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree and/or Master’s Degree in Architecture. 5 to 7 years of similar experience. Registered Architect (RA/AIA/NCARB) licensure is REQUIRED for consideration. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP is preferred. Additional Information
