Overview

The Identity and Access Management Analyst is responsible for supporting the identity lifecycle across county systems and applications. This role focuses on day-to-day operational tasks, ensuring users have the correct access while maintaining compliance with Identity Access Management (IAM) policies and security standards. The position requires hands-on technical work, attention to detail, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders. The IAM Analyst works under the guidance of the Lead IAM Analyst. Distinguishing Features of the Class

This role will be focused on execution of IAM processes such as provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews, and troubleshooting. The IAM Analyst contributes to process improvement and automation efforts, while gaining exposure to IAM technologies and best practices. The IAM Analyst assists with IAM projects, developing scalable solutions, and partnering with stakeholders to implement secure and efficient access management practices. Duties and Responsibilities

Create, modify, and disable user accounts in Active Directory, Azure AD, Microsoft 365, and other enterprise systems. Assist with provisioning, deprovisioning, and maintaining access for employees, guests, and third parties. Support Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) administration including enrollment, troubleshooting, and user support. Execute periodic access reviews and document results for compliance and audit purposes. Work with stakeholders to implement role-based access controls (RBAC). Troubleshoot identity-related access issues and escalate as needed. Participate in automation initiatives by documenting processes and assisting in workflow testing. Follow established IAM policies, procedures, and standards while suggesting improvements. Provide excellent customer service by supporting end users with account and access-related requests. Assist with periodic access reviews and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. Participate with Internal Audit, Risk, and IT teams to improve IAM standards, processes, and governance. Contribute to IAM modernization projects, including integration of new IAM tools and features. Participate in a rotational on-call schedule with the Cyber Security and IAM Teams. Perform other IAM-related duties as assigned. Recruitment Standards

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience with Active Directory, ADFS, and Azure Active Directory. Excellent comprehensive customer service skills. Experience with information security best practices. Experience with Identity Lifecycle Management, and provisioning and decommissioning user accounts Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner. Familiarity with MFA, SSO, and Role-based Access Control methods. Basic knowledge of scripting such as PowerShell, Python, Java Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations (HIPAA, PCI, CJIS, NIST). Ability to think logically, analyze, and present ideas clearly. Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment. Ability to work efficiently, expeditiously, and independently with limited supervision. Ability to organize work in an effective manner and to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a closely related field and 2 years of progressively responsible technical systems experience in Information Technologies and/or directly related to identity and access management and cyber security. Preferred Qualifications

Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field; from an accredited college or university. Experience with Information Security. NIST Framework for Information Security and Identity and Access Management certifications such as Microsoft Certified, Identity and Access Administrator Associate, SC-300, CIST, CIAM, CIMP or CAMS. Physical Demands

An employee in this position must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. The employee must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Working Conditions

Work consists of the normal office environment and work from home in a Hybrid model. No adverse environmental conditions. May Require Driving

This position may require driving whether a County owned or personal vehicle to conduct county business such as but not limited to attending conferences, meetings, or any other county related functions.

Motor Vehicle Reports may be verified for valid driver’s license and that the driving record is compatible with the county’s driving criteria. If a personal vehicle is operated for county business proper insurance is maintained as per Guilford County’s vehicle use policy. Special Note
