Technical Specialist III, Sr or Staff – Turbines Williams Engineering invites you to join a team that transforms clean energy through innovation, collaboration, and a strong safety culture. As a Technical Specialist, you will resolve sophisticated problems, guide multiple partners, and maintain high‑integrity turbine and generator control systems. Your leadership, presentation, and training skills will be essential as you mentor colleagues and drive project success.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

Ensure system integrity, support pipeline operations, and maintain compliance and facility equipment.

Troubleshoot and resolve sophisticated problems using technical evaluation, innovation, and judgment.

Develop, present, and train internal and external partners; mentor others as needed.

Participate in project planning and collaborate closely with company partners.

Lead development and tasks related to operations, equipment maintenance, technical standards, and/or governmental requirements.

Read, understand, and evaluate engineering design documents, contracts, and agreements.

Serve as a technical subject matter expert in gas turbine and reciprocating engine power generation, specializing in generator controls technology.

Perform technical and economic evaluation, performance testing, design, construction, commissioning of new facilities, upgrade existing facilities, and research on new developments.

Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Required: High school diploma/GED or Associates degree with a minimum of eight (8) years in the oil & gas industry.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or engineering with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive experience in field operations or a related specialty field.

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

Work in extreme temperatures, loud noises, and enclosed spaces.

Carry or lift up to 50 lbs; team lift loads exceeding 50 lbs as needed.

Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat for long periods.

Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, and/or small towers with appropriate PPE.

Use hand tools.

Shift and Travel Requirements:

Available to work after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekend shifts, and holidays as needed.

May be required to work overtime, 10‑12 hour shifts, and travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.

Other Requirements:

Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Excellent organizational, interpersonal skills, and prioritize safety.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
