Job Title:
Complex Life Claims Examiner
Location:
Fully remote work arrangement.
Overview:
WoodmenLife is hiring a Complex Life Claims Examiner to conduct thorough claim investigations on complex claims such as Accidental Death, Contestable, and Rival Claims. The examiner will adjudicate claims to meet risk management, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

Responsibilities:
Process accidental death claims and claims within the contestability period, including suicide exclusion.
Investigate, evaluate, and adjudicate complex claims with independence, draft rescission letters, and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory guidelines.
Partner with internal and external resources to bring claims to appropriate outcomes and meet daily service metrics.
Collaborate with claim and underwriting management to track trends and identify gaps in risk assessment and underwriting processes.
Consult with management and Legal on claims investigations, denials, and rescissions; interpret contracts and regulations to direct decisions on claims processing.
Adhere to Core Operations Behavioral Standards and maintain attendance as per policy.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; commensurate work experience considered.
Prefer 3+ years previous experience in claims processing or underwriting area.
Prefer knowledge and demonstrated experience in medical terminology and medical disorders.
Prefer completion of ICA certification program.
Excellent writing and analytical skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated knowledge of WoodmenLife products and internal systems.
Problem‑solving capabilities and ability to communicate clearly to associates and customers.
