Since 2004, the Law Office of James R. Snell, Jr., LLC has assisted clients with injury and criminal defense matters. We are looking to hire a third attorney to join the practice. The position is supported by a staff of professional paralegals, and we regularly use investigators and other experts. This is a great opportunity for someone who is reliable, highly motivated, and wants to excel. Criminal practice is typically fast-paced, with regular court appearances and direct contact with clients, police officers, and prosecutors. This is an on-site, full-time role for an Attorney located in Lexington, SC. The Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting legal research, and representing clients in court. Daily tasks also include negotiation and providing defense strategies for clients in criminal cases. Responsibilities
Provide legal advice and conduct legal research. Represent clients in court and in negotiations. Develop and implement defense strategies for clients in criminal cases. Interact directly with clients, police officers, and prosecutors as part of casework. Handle cases in Domestic Violence, Internet Crimes Against Children, Drug Offenses, DUI, and other General Sessions or Magistrate/Municipal Court matters, with some exposure to cases in the United States District Court. Work primarily in the Lexington and Columbia areas; cases may be distributed across South Carolina. On-site, full-time schedule: typically 8:15 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Note: There is no hourly billing; compensation is a straight salary and 401(k) matching; salary expectations welcome. We provide training as needed; new attorneys are encouraged to apply. SC Bar Membership with all 403 Trial Observation Requirements completed. No prior experience in criminal or injury law required—we will train as needed. Employment details
