Primary Purpose

The College of Dental Medicine at Nova Southeastern University is seeking adjunct faculty to assist with the clinical and didactic training of dental students under the direction of the Department Chair of the Department of Prosthodontics.

Essential Job Functions

Prepare and deliver instruction to Dental students.

Facilitate activities in the classroom, simulation laboratory, clinic, and/or other setting(s).

Act as a liaison between the students and the faculty course director.

Provide and facilitate examinations. May include assigning grades consistent with course requirements.

Teaches or facilitates classes based on varied schedules to accommodate diverse student needs and to meet the expectations of the College as assigned by the designated faculty course director.

Follows the course curriculum as assigned.

Prepares assignments.

Evaluates student performance and learning.

Maintains an active classroom environment conducive to student learning and success.

Assess clinical education needs and patient and client teaching needs using a variety of methods.

Demonstrates patient care in clinical units.

Required to complete NSU mandatory trainings (e.g., HIPAA compliance, technology training, Canvas training).

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Dental Medicine - Comprehensive knowledge of the information/techniques needed in Dental Medicine, including symptoms/treatment planning.

Education/Training - Knowledge of principles/methods for curriculum/training design/teaching for individuals/groups, and measurement of training effects.

English Language - Thorough knowledge of the structure/content of the English language including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Customer Service - Knowledge of principles/processes for providing customer and personal services, needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of user satisfaction.
