Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Three (3) years of paid work experience teaching in an Early Childhood setting preferred. Knowledge of Michigan Department of Human Services regulations and Child Protection Act. Knowledge of Head Start structure and functions preferred and the ability to follow Head Start Performance Standards. Demonstrated computer and keyboarding skills to effectively use software products to facilitate lesson plans, assessments, program reports, and word processing. Certificate, Licenses, Registrations
Annual Department of Health and Human Services Central Registry Clearance documentation. Valid Michigan Driver's License & valid vehicle insurance. Valid Chauffeur's License (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire). Current First Aid/CPR (or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire). Current physical examination including tuberculosis test and Covid-19 vaccinations. Physical Demands
Ability to work flexible hours and set schedule according to program and family needs. Available to travel to out-of-town training and be away from home for two (2) or more nights. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and drive. Frequently required to stand for extended periods of time, talk, hear, and carry materials in family homes. Work in moderate noise and in both indoor and outdoor environments. Dexterity of hands and fingers to demonstrate activities and prepare materials. Mental Demands
Job requires mental alertness. Ability to anticipate possible crisis situations and deal with them effectively. Ability to handle stress and be flexible. Ability to use good judgment and professional boundaries with at-risk populations. Salary
$25.92 per hour. Based upon availability of federal funding. Work Year
48 Weeks (40 hours per month) Requirements
Newly hired employees must satisfactorily pass: Police clearance including digital fingerprinting; Reference checks. Additional Requirements
