Facility Master Mechanic

in our General Maintenance Department in the Fulton, New York facility.

Responsibilities

Read work plans and specifications and lay out, measure, and fabricate various projects

Work with Wood/Piping/Concrete/Plastic/Roofing materials

Operate equipment such as hand and power tools, welders (MIG/TIG/Stick Arc), pipe benders, and threading equipment

Operate woodworking equipment (drill press, table saw, planner, radial arm saw, router)

Hang doors, windows, fixtures; build additions and modifications

Concrete and block work; repair and additions

Run water piping and gas piping and distribution systems

Complete online assessments (reading comprehension, basic math, mechanical reasoning) with a minimum score of 75

Pass hands-on mechanical assessment

Lift up to 60 lbs; good eye/hand coordination; color vision; ability to work in various temperatures, including winter snow removal

Requirements

Must be 18 years or older at time of hire

High school diploma/GED preferred

Related education preferred: National Work Readiness Certificate or BOCES or Vocational Education Training Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing Skills; or community college continuing Education Certificate in related Industrial/Manufacturing/Technical skills; or A.A.S. degree in Technical program field of study (electronics, manufacturing, engineering, computer science)

Demonstrate proficient computer skills and experience working with automated/computerized machinery

Industrial experience preferred in millwright, carpenter, electrician, operating engineer, laborer; experience in manufacturing, power plants, recycling plants, paper mills, warehousing, or high-tech material handling

Military service is additionally considered

Rate of pay: $29.54+ per hour
