Program Development and Implementation: plan, develop, evaluate, and oversee educational activities such as 21st Century, LEAP, Power Hour and other services that prepare youth for success. Monitor educational delivery and collaborate with education staff to plan and implement improvements. Implement and oversee Project Learn philosophies and High Yield Learning activities throughout the Club. Communicate with Club staff, members and partner agencies to ensure understanding of tutoring, homework help, and educational learning opportunities. Establish and maintain educational program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members. Tutor youth as needed to ensure all receive homework assistance. Strategic Planning
Evaluate educational programs on an ongoing basis and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs. Resource Management
Control educational program and activity expenditures within the approved budget. Monitor educational program areas and provide constructive feedback to staff on program delivery and member guidance. Train and guide education instructors to promote the well-being of youth and ensure understanding of designated programs. Consult with parents about member issues. Implement and manage required grants, including completing monthly reports. Partnership Development
Develop strong relationships with schools and teachers to support youth learning. Recruit volunteers as needed to assist with tutoring and homework help. Additional Responsibilities
Visit schools and meet with teachers regularly. Complete required training: 24 hours in the first year and 18 hours each subsequent year. Oversee special programs and events (e.g., Keystone, Youth of the Year, Awards Programs) and participate in other unit activities as necessary. Manage the Club in the absence of the Club and Program Director. Plan and coordinate field trips. Individual Responsibilities
Dependability and ability to complete tasks in an organized manner. Respond to organizational correspondence using brand-appropriate language and logos. Demonstrate dedication, regular attendance, punctuality, and willingness to learn. Maintain a positive attitude and ability to multi-task. Maintain professional appearance in line with organizational dress code policies. Achieve measurable outcomes as determined by supervisor. Skills and Knowledge Required
High School Diploma/GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Two years of experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on youth development; or equivalent experience. Knowledge of curriculum design, teaching methods, and measurement of training effects. Thorough knowledge of youth development and the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to supervise and motivate staff; ability to work effectively with members, parents, and community leaders. Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications. Physical Requirements / Work Environment
Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Must be able to remain alert and energetic for 8 hours or more. Must be able to move quickly to keep up with youth. Employment Details
