Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 – Jonestown Road, Harrisburg Join the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board as a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager for our Fine Wine & Good Spirits store. The role ensures smooth operations, exceptional customer service, and strong sales performance.

Position Overview The Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 plays a pivotal part in ensuring the store runs efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service. You will work closely with the General Manager to lead, motivate, and develop the team, drive sales, and maintain high standards of presentation.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and manage store operations during shifts, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.

Lead, motivate, and manage a team of Liquor Store employees, assigning tasks, inspecting work, and providing guidance.

Participate in sales activities, including receiving shipments, stocking products, and assisting customers with product selection.

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a positive shopping experience.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment for both customers and staff.

Assist in the management of inventory, ensuring stock levels are accurate and product displays are maintained.

Assist the General Manager with store operations, including merchandise management, sales, cash accounting, and record maintenance.

Help ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to alcohol sales.

Collaborate with the General Manager on staff training, performance reviews, and other operational functions.

Safely lift products – occasionally overhead or from a squatting position – weighing 30–60 pounds, ensuring personal safety and product protection.

Stand for extended periods of time.

Foster a positive, team‑oriented environment, working collaboratively to create an atmosphere where each day brings new challenges and rewards.

Work Schedule and Additional Information

Free, secure onsite parking.

Full-time employment.

Work hours will vary, totaling 75 hours biweekly.

Telework: This position does not offer telework options.

Salary: The starting salary for this position is fixed at the minimum salary listed above and is not negotiable.

Required Experience, Training & Eligibility Qualifications

One year as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B, or

Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A, or

Three years as a Liquor Store Clerk 2, or

Three years of lead or supervisory retail sales work.

Other Requirements

You must meet the PA residency requirement.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements

You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of prospective employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case‑by‑case basis.
