Research Associate - Pharmacology & Toxicology Location: Augusta University Full/Part Time: Full Time Regular/Temporary: Not specified Responsibilities
Molecular and cell biology experiments. Small animal surgeries. Record and analyze results of experiments and procedures using manual or computer techniques; develop special computer programs to facilitate analysis if necessary. Present the project in lab meetings and scientific meetings; write and publish manuscripts; write grant applications. Training lab personnel. Perform all other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years\' research and/or clinical experience; previous supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications
Prior research experience and/or knowledge in cell signaling and/or vascular biology. Previous experience in cell imaging using confocal microscopy and handling mice is strongly preferred although not required. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Biological or Chemical Sciences and/or extensive previous work experience that includes Molecular Biology, cell culture, protein analysis, biochemical and immunohistochemical techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases or willingness to learn. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to complete work and meet deadlines. Willingness and ability to work with research animals. Ability to work independently with only general supervision. Shift, Salary & Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of normal business hours may be required). Salary Minimum: $45,400 annually. Pay Band: B8. Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint). Conditions of Employment
