Responsibilities

Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously; assist guests with video gaming needs; inform guests of promotions; recommend additional items; complete transactions accurately and circulate to engage with guests.

Support the shopping environment, visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that drive sales and repeat business.

Process guest purchases and returns using the POS system, including accurate transactions, packaging, and receipts, while delivering top-notch guest service.

Respond to guest comments or questions in person or by phone, escalate issues to the Store Manager when needed, and maintain professional communication.

Promote GameStop guest benefits (e.g., new title reservations, trade-in program, Pro Rewards).

Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations and training store associates on company policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines.

Observe associate performance, provide feedback, address issues, and ensure alignment with guest service expectations.

Provide recognition and feedback to associates; document performance in HR systems in partnership with the Store Manager.

Ensure onboarding, training, and compliance training are completed prior to opening or closing shifts; ensure associates understand policies, inventory control, loss prevention, safety, financial protocol, and ethics.

Schedule store associates to meet guidelines; manage breaks and meals; supervise staffing to maintain guest service.

Approve payroll, manage paid time off and time edits, and verify pay for all time worked.

Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising per guidelines; verify fixtures and equipment are in working order.

Fulfill Omni-Channel orders daily.

Protect assets through inventory control and loss prevention; inspect packages at closing; report concerns to the Store Manager.

Support the team in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required admin and operations.

Perform inventory counts, restock merchandise, and ensure products are represented and organized on the sales floor.

Balance daily transactions in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits per guidelines.

Verify shipments for discrepancies and record discrepancies in POS; conduct inventories and communicate with management.

Process defective/recall items and stock pulls; label boxes with packing lists.

Maintain awareness of associate and guest safety; report injuries promptly per guidelines.

Maintain store records/files neatly; ensure manuals are up to date.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Open and close procedures adherence.

Qualifications

Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

Must be at least 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate\u2019s or accredited bachelor\u2019s degree with emphasis in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Operate POS system; basic mathematics and alphabetizing skills.

Complete required paperwork properly; follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.

Execute financial tasks in accordance with company policy.

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum of 3 days/week availability.

Be reliable, trustworthy, and able to work under pressure; problem-solver attitude.

Able to work alone; stand and move about the store for extended periods; physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Possess or acquire onboarding knowledge of military ranks and insignia for stores on military bases.
