WRAP EXPANDED LEARNING PROGRAM LEADERS (RECREATION LEADER SPECIALIST VII-N/C)
Join the City of Long Beach as a Recreation Program Leader to assist with the WRAP After School Program. The WRAP Expanded Learning Program is a structured after-school program operated in partnership with the Long Beach Unified School District (LBUSD). This program offers a balanced mixture of academic enrichment, homework assistance, and physically and emotionally healthy activities. The Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine is a nationally recognized and award-winning organization with 1,100 full-time/part-time staff and a budget of $85 million. Responsibilities: Supervise subordinate staff, volunteers, and program participants in grades TK-8th. Design, plan, market, and oversee implementation of site programs. Train subordinate staff on effective behavior and classroom management techniques. Assist with supervision of site program and staff, clean up, and closing duties. Maintain accurate records and documentation of incidents, behavior, meal service, and attendance. Requirements: Must meet at least one of the options: two years of part-time experience working in after-school programming, 48 units of college education, or a combination of education and experience. Must have completed 48 or more units at an accredited college or university or pass a LBUSD-administered math and literacy exam. Must have access to reliable transportation and be at least 18 years of age. Desirable Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Zoom, Google Meets, Forms, and Documents.
