Club programs teach life skills, conflict resolution and focus on the development of character, providing youth with a safe haven and positive role models that help improve decision-making skills. Job Summary

Under the direction of the Program Director, the van driver is assigned to transport club members to and from school. Essential Functions

Operates van on schedule and within the designated route. Maintain a safe driving record with no violations. Assist with serving snacks for the after-school program and perform other clerical duties related to accompanying club members for dismissal procedures. Maintain vehicle tracking logs on a daily basis. Operate the van in a safe manner, abiding by all federal, state, local and company regulations. Promptly reports emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, safety hazards, and deviations from policies, procedures, brand standards and regulations to management. Advise the club director on safety and route improvements; report accidents and hazards as necessary. Perform daily vehicle inspections and record results on a daily checklist, including cleanliness, maintenance and safety features. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and post-trip walk-throughs. Implement safety procedures with the Program Director. Maintain van logs and all other required paperwork related to the use of club vehicles. Qualifications and Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED equivalent Must possess a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years and no more than 5 points on driving record; CDL preferred. Must be able to pass an FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry checks, and National and State Child Abuse Registry checks per DelaCare regulations. Ability to operate a 10-passenger van Understanding of current state and local regulations Flexibility with hours and schedule of work Experience transporting children is preferred Experience working in a licensed childcare facility is preferred Working Conditions

Environmental and working conditions vary from indoors to outdoors; various meeting locations in and out of the Club; occasional statewide travel (e.g., training). Physical and Mental Requirements

Maintain a high energy level. Regularly speak clearly and listen attentively. Frequently lift, carry or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds when preparing rooms for activities. Typically bend, stoop, walk and sometimes run while interacting with children in various activities throughout the day. Work Hours
