Curriculum is a combination of classroom training, demonstration, hands-on learning, and written exam
Certification:
Upon successful completion, receive a NYS PCA Certificate and an opportunity to apply for a position as a PCA
The Role of a Personal Care Aide in NYS Responsibilities:
Enhancing clients' well-being and quality of life
Provide direct client care, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and medication reminders
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
Provide transportation, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping as needed
Support clients in completing activities of daily living
Influence clients' quality of life through promoting patient safety, hygiene, healthy eating, medication adherence, clean environments, happiness, and social engagement
Comfortable working in diverse client homes and respecting various personalities and behaviors
NYCPCA Minimum Pay Rate: $19.50 per hour
