MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Currently employed as a full-time, paid, career structural firefighter for a minimum of 24 months of continuous service. At least 12 concurrent months of service as a certified paramedic in the State of Washington, holding NREMT-P or NRP certification (in any state). Must possess an IFSAC or ProBoard Firefighter I certification. Successful completion and maintenance of Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention (EVIP) qualifications for the duration of employment. All candidates must have: Possession of, and the ability to obtain and maintain for the duration of employment, a valid, unrestricted Washington State Driver License. Attainment of the age of 21 years by date of hire. Possession of a current CPAT. Successful completion and maintenance of Emergency Vehicle Incident Prevention (EVIP) qualifications for the duration of employment. U.S. Citizenship, a lawful permanent resident, or deferred action for childhood arrivals recipients (DACA). Submission to thorough background checks, including psychological, physical, and medical checks; an employment reference check; and verification of all applicable certifications.
