Urgent Care Overview: APP: Sentara Urgent Care - Williamsburg, VA (Newtown)
The Urgent Care APP (NP or PA) provides healthcare services to individuals, families, and groups under Sentara Medical Group (SMG). Responsibilities include conducting health assessments, prescribing treatments, performing occupational medicine exams, and procedures in a walk-in Urgent Care setting. Services are provided under the supervision of assigned physicians (collaborative agreement). The role requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and 12-hour shifts. You must be able to work independently, demonstrate situational awareness, and move quickly without compromising quality or customer service. Continuing education credits must be maintained, along with prescriptive authority and special clinical competencies as required. The NRCME certification is expected to be completed within 30 days of employment. Prescription authority is limited to VA staff. Work schedule includes 14 or 16 shifts per month with flexibility, including 8 or 12-hour shifts depending on the day.
