The New Mexico Veterans Healthcare System is seeking a full-time, board-eligible Cardiology - Electrophysiologist Physician to join our team. We have multiple positions across New Mexico that may match your geographic preferences (Vacancy #: CBSX-11877518-23-KG). Responsibilities
Provide a broad range of Cardiology services to Veterans, including inpatient, outpatient, and consultation duties. Share responsibilities for diagnostic procedures such as echocardiography, stress testing, ECG interpretation, and arrhythmia management. Support inpatient services through consultations and communicate with primary care and urgent care providers via phone, e-consults, and outpatient consults. Participate in Cardiology Virtual Telehealth (CVT) Clinic and communicate directly with patients through phone or secure messaging. Qualifications
Must be eligible for an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. Complete Cardiology fellowship training, with board certification or eligibility to take the ABIM boards. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written. Basic requirements include U.S. citizenship, an MD degree from an accredited institution, an unrestricted medical license, and completed residency training. Additional Requirements
Board eligibility for Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Electrophysiology. Work Details
Work schedule varies, including days from Sun to Sat based on operational needs. This position is not virtual, and telework is not available. Compensation and Benefits
Salary: $230,000 - $290,000 per year, with annual performance bonuses and salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days annually, including leave, sick days, holidays, and CME leave. Retirement: Federal pension and 401K with VA contributions. Insurance: Federal health, vision, dental, life, and long-term care insurance. CME Reimbursement: Up to $1,000 annually for full-time physicians with board certification. Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage. Other Details
