The Safety Coordinator will focus on creating and enforcing a culture of health and safety for employees, subcontractors, and the general public on project sites. This person must be safety-oriented and collaborate with the Operations team to ensure a work environment focused on accident prevention and risk mitigation. Responsibilities
Monitor safety efforts of subcontractors and Brinkmann employees. Discuss safety with on-site subcontractor supervisory personnel. Coordinate with project supervision to ensure safety equipment and materials are used. Record and forward safety meeting documents, inspections, and correspondence to the Safety Director. Coordinate responses to inspection reports from insurance. Conduct documented safety and health inspections. Investigate injuries, review reports, and coordinate corrective actions. Maintain current safety documentation and literature. Monitor public safety by minimizing hazards. Ensure maintenance of first aid supplies. Maintain OSHA 300 log of injuries and illnesses. Implement safety policies, procedures, and programs. Work with safety managers, project managers, and superintendents to embed safety into projects. Coordinate compliance with storm water pollution plans. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Experience managing safety on large construction projects preferred. Ability to handle safety orientations, substance abuse programs, injury investigations, and other safety functions. Effective communication and organizational skills. Working Conditions
Primarily outdoors with varying weather and safety hazards. Physical effort including walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs., and hands-on work. Environment is demanding and fast-paced, with variable work locations and travel.
