Help all students develop competence and confidence through a balance of acquiring basic skills and developing conceptual understanding. Monitor, supervise, coordinate and enforce rules of conduct and behavior for assigned students; reinforce positive student behaviors in accordance with school and District policy. Observe, evaluate, report and record students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Communicate with parents/guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators to resolve students’ behavioral and academic problems. Prepare educational course outlines, objectives and materials according to curriculum guidelines or state/local requirements. Present subject matter to students using various teaching methods and technology, adjusting teaching style to meet student learning needs. May participate in extra-duty activities as outlined in the teachers’ collective bargaining agreement (coaching, tutoring, or summer programs, etc.). What You’ll Need
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field required. Master’s Degree is required for Concurrent Enrollment positions. Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license. DPS accepts a CDE Application Receipt for 90 days. Specific requirements vary by subject area. Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, with or without accommodations.
