Fortune School of Education is seeking a team-oriented professional who will assist with Fortune's athletic program under the leadership of the Athletic Director. Responsibilities will include coaching and providing direction to student athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork; additional duties as may be assigned. Qualifications

Act as a positive role model and representative of Fortune School of Education while developing rapport with students, parents, and teachers Knowledge of all aspects of sport (records, planning, preparation, training, and regulations) Ability to sustain a positive approach in instruction and skill development of student athletes Training in First Aid and universal precautions Successful coaching experience at the high school level desired Hours include but are not limited to weekdays, weekends, and evenings Essential duties and responsibilities

Follow and maintain knowledge of Fortune School of Education policy(ies) and procedures relevant to this position Instruct and demonstrate skill sets and techniques for individual and team achievement Plan and set-up activities, practices and contests as assigned by the head coach Develop appropriate training programs and practice schedules when assigned by the head coach Ensure proper storage, maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment and uniforms Travel and supervise student athletes on the team bus to and from contests Dress in a professional manner during contests and public functions Adhere to all financial policies regarding collection and disbursement of money, expenses, and receipts Make recommendations regarding purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies Enforce discipline policies and emphasize sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles Supervise students in locker rooms and ensure appropriate conduct Explain and enforce rules and eligibility for athletic activities Maintain a safe environment and facilities for student athletes Ensure medical and safety requirements are adhered to Complete District injury report for any student injured within 24 hours Perform duties as assigned by head coach Computer/technology skills desired Equal employment opportunity
