Overview
Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) for Pediatric Critical Care at Ascension Seton/Dell Children’s Hospital, Austin, TX. The role is part of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team, providing interdependent and independent care in a high-acuity setting in collaboration with PICU physicians. Schedule includes variable shifts with days/nights/holidays/weekends, 24/7 coverage in a critical care environment.

Responsibilities
Obtain patient history and perform assessments; order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies; conduct preventative health assessments, screenings, immunizations, and patient care.
Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions; refer to other providers or community resources as needed.
Counsel and educate patients and families about preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
Document care in accordance with specialty area standards and network nursing policy.
Position Highlights
NPs with acute care certification encouraged to apply.
Qualifications
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Nurse Practitioner credential from the Texas Board of Nursing (required).
Licensed Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing (required).
BLS Provider (AHA) preferred.
DEA credentialing preferred.
Education: Master’s degree in Nursing required.
