Overview
Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is inviting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Biology at Hofstra University. The Department of Biology welcomes applications in the area of Microbiology. We are seeking a microbiologist with a research focus on a non-pathogenic bacterial model system, using a combination of classical microbiology and molecular tools to address topics such as microbial cell structure, microbial biochemistry, microbial genetic mechanisms, or microbial physiology. The successful candidate is expected to: Teach lecture and lab courses in microbiology, introductory molecular/cell biology and upper-level courses that complement current course offerings. Establish and maintain an externally-funded research program that complements the needs of our department and is accessible to both undergraduate and Master’s research students.
