The
PURPOSE AND SCOPE
of this role is to provide the learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of the course objectives. Primary responsibilities include planning, developing, and teaching courses within the curriculum. Essential Job Functions
Teach courses as designated by the ATCP Director in the Alternative Teacher Certification program. Submit required college reports and forms. Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines. Provide timely, quality access to students by appointment, electronic communication, and other appropriate methods. Continuously improve instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods. Evaluate students by a variety of means to measure their progress in achieving course objectives. Attend in-service meetings and trainings with students and ISD partners. Maintain professional relationships with students, colleagues, ISD partners, and the community. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Mastery of course content. Demonstrated leadership skills; style that emphasizes collaboration, teamwork, and facilitation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. Commitment to diversity; ability to appreciate alternative viewpoints; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. Demonstrates interest in interdisciplinary teaching, service learning, learning technologies, course development, and adult learning methodologies. Required Qualifications
Master's degree in education or related field and at least 3 years of recent, documented experience in K-12 classroom teaching. Active Texas Teacher Certification. Preferred Qualifications
Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) Appraiser Certification. The salary is $55.44 per contact hour.
