This is a 100% Full-Time Traveling role.

While listed with our Atlanta office, this position supports our nationwide Aviation Vertical footprint. The candidate does not need to reside in Atlanta. The Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine and complex construction projects. This role conducts safety inspections, documents abatement of hazards, writes reports, and performs trend analyses in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Key Role Responsibilities - Core

SAFETY SPECIALIST FAMILY - CORE Coordinate and implement the field safety program for routine construction projects.

Conduct regular walk-through inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with laws and company policies.

Conduct safety audits on assigned projects, identify and document hazardous conditions, and recommend abatement; utilize internal safety management systems to document findings and track abatement.

Conduct project-specific new hire orientation and oversee drug and alcohol policy compliance.

Monitor the implementation of prime contractor and/or subcontractors’ safety programs.

Attend project pre-planning, progress, and other safety-related meetings.

Support field leadership in safety program specifics, such as meetings and committees; chair the project safety committee as needed.

Assist in investigation of project-related accidents; determine root cause and recommend process changes to prevent recurrence.

Coordinate with injured employees and clinics to ensure timely treatment and return-to-work; compile progress reports of injuries.

Monitor site safety incentive program.

Key Role Responsibilities - Additional Core SENIOR SAFETY SPECIALIST In addition, this role will be responsible for the following: Leads with a higher level of safety knowledge, identifying complex hazards in safety, health, and hazardous materials; provides complex abatement solutions.

Applies advanced knowledge of equipment, laws, and work processes to project-specific safety recommendations.

Contributes advanced communication in meetings and team interactions.

Performs trend analysis in internal safety systems to identify trends and recommend mitigations.

Provides guidance and training on basic to intermediate safety topics for new or existing personnel.

Assists safety leadership during insurance audits.

Oversees more complex projects (one large/complex project or multiple projects).

Manages controlled insurance program projects.

May develop training strategies, assess needs, and design programs to support training objectives.

Develops training methods (digital learning, classroom, on-the-job) and may adopt technologies to enhance learning.

Monitors safety metrics and identifies training improvements and interventions; delivers in-person and virtual training; ensures training records are retained.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.

Advanced verbal and written communications.

Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).

Knowledge of and ability to enforce all federal, state, local, and company safety regulations.

Proficiency in company safety software/programs, processes and tools (Advanced).

Ability to recognize hazardous situations and implement corrective measures.

Ability to build relationships across teams and projects.

Knowledge of environmental hazard testing protocols.

Proficiency in required construction technology (Intermediate).

Ability to collaborate within a team, internally and externally.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in safety and health-related field (Preferred).

Equivalency of relevant experience will be considered.

Experience

5+ years construction safety experience (Required).

Working Environment

Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
