Job Overview
As a Counter Manager at Macy’s Lancome counter in Short Pump Town Center, you will lead a dynamic team of Beauty Advisors, manage all aspects of the Lancome cosmetics brand, and create exceptional customer experiences through personalized consultations and expert product knowledge.
Salaries Base pay range: $17.33/hr – $26.78/hr (actual pay based on experience and performance).
Responsibilities
Lead the counter team, setting a positive example each shift and ensuring the counter area is polished, organized, and prepared for customer arrivals.
Interact with customers by offering genuine hospitality, initiating friendly conversations, and building lasting relationships.
Maintain a shoppable space—clean testers, current signage, properly stocked displays—while supporting merchandising updates throughout the day.
Coach the team on loyalty benefits, closing sales with personalized thank‑you messages, and ensuring high‑quality customer interactions.
Model collaboration and teamwork so the entire store delivers exceptional service.
Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance and implement strategies to drive business growth and improve results.
Plan and execute in‑store and vendor‑led events to drive traffic and engagement.
Maintain brand standards through merchandising, hygiene, and stock replenishment.
Acquire new customers by opening credit accounts and promoting loyalty benefits.
Partner with vendors and store leadership to optimize outcomes and resolve customer concerns professionally.
Stay informed on new launches, best‑sellers, and beauty trends to support team education.
Manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and perform in a fast‑paced environment.
Demonstrate flexibility, sound judgment, and a passion for the beauty industry.
Accept flexible availability—including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and supervisors.
Qualifications
3–5 years of relevant retail, beauty, or leadership experience preferred.
Strong communication skills and customer‑first mindset.
Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules in English.
Essential Physical Requirements
Talking, lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands.
Standing for at least two consecutive hours; lifting at least 25 lbs; stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders, and reaching above eye level.
Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Frequent use of computers and other technology during job functions, including handheld equipment, cash register, and transaction processing.
