Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for the sales and marketing efforts with the objective of increasing profitable sales through creating, building, and maintaining high-quality relationships with new and existing customers. The role utilizes company digital tools and products to connect with consumers, develop creative solutions, generate sales volume, and provide the highest level of customer service.

What You’ll Do:

Sell, market, promote, and demonstrate products while effectively communicating features and benefits.

Increase business by generating sales to new customers and selling additional products to existing customers.

Collaborate with leadership, team members, and suppliers to plan, track, and implement sales strategies and develop new markets.

Assist customers with product selection and application using internal specialists and supplier representatives.

Establish and maintain customer relationships.

Evaluate customer operations to identify objectives, requirements, and preferences and present tailored solutions.

Collaborate with customers and team for product quotations and provide ongoing communication throughout the purchasing lifecycle.

Work with management, credit, and customers to resolve payment issues promptly.

Gather and report information on company, competitors, pricing, products, and current and future market trends.

Participate in professional development to improve selling skills and maintain technical capabilities, including training, promotions, sales meetings, and seminars.

Maintain accurate records, including sales call schedules and expense reports.

Coordinate sales calls with vendors to introduce and demonstrate products, identify customer needs, and promote solutions.

Utilize and champion digital tools, customer solutions, and services to gain a competitive advantage.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Valid Driver’s License.

High School diploma or GED (required).

Positive, friendly, and helpful attitude with customers; sensitivity to their needs.

Customer-oriented, motivated, excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence decisions.

Product and application knowledge essential.

Highly self-motivated.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and relevant ERP and CRM systems.

Physical Demands:

Sit: Must be able to remain stationary—frequency 21% to 50%.

Walk: Must be able to move inside/outside office—constant at least 51%.

Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Operate computer and other machinery—constant at least 51%.

Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl: Must be able to crouch down to stock shelves, pick up boxes, or position oneself—occasionally up to 20%.

Climb or balance: Must be able to ascend/descend on ladder, forklift, pallet jack, or other equipment—occasionally up to 20%.

Talk, hear, taste, smell: Must be able to communicate effectively and detect hazardous conditions—constant at least 51%.

Weight and Force Demands:

Up to 10 pounds—occasionally up to 20%.

Up to 25 pounds—occasionally up to 20%.

Up to 50 pounds—occasionally up to 20%.

Exposed to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and/or exposure to heat and cold—occasionally up to 20%.

Handles or works with potentially dangerous equipment—occasionally up to 20%.

Travels to offsite locations—constant at least 51%.
